Stuart Calder is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising entirely
in surgery of the knee. He is based in Leeds.
He graduated from Bristol University in 1986.
He trained in orthopaedics 1991-1998 mainly in the Yorkshire region,
a period interspersed with 2 years of research and an MD higher degree.
This was finished with a one year fellowship at a leading specialist
knee surgery clinic in Brisbane, Australia.
He was appointed Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery for
Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust in 1998, and is an Honorary Lecturer
at Leeds University Medical School. He is heavily involved in the
training of orthopaedic surgeons, and has run courses on arthroscopic
knee surgery and knee ligament reconstruction.
Mr. Calder's interests in knee surgery include a particular emphasis
on sports injuries (from amateur to professional), arthroscopic (keyhole)
surgery, ligament reconstruction, arthritis surgery (total and unicompartment
knee replacement), tibial osteotomy and patello-femoral (kneecap)
resurfacing. |
